FIFA World Cup 2026 Match Today Live Score: Bad weather in Philadelphia has delayed the second half of the France vs Iraq match. According to a statement from FIFA, “A 30-minute break has been announced. FIFA will follow the safety protocols established by local authorities and the match will resume as soon as it is safe to do so.”
Kylian Mbappe’s goal gave France a 1-0 lead at the break. Mbappe, who scored twice in France’s opener against Senegal, got back on the scoresheet in the 14th minute of France’s opener against Iraq at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on Monday night.

Mbappe leads the French side with former PSG team-mate Lionel Messi scoring his 17th and 18th World Cup goals. Mbappe has currently scored 15 goals in 16 matches.
Mbappe and France, who were generally kept quiet by the Senegalese in the first half, came alive in the second, with the Real Madrid player scoring twice in the 66th and 90th minutes before Bradley Barkola added another in the 82md minute. Ibrahim Mbaye also relied on one for Senegal but the African side eventually fell behind 3-1.
Iraq, meanwhile, are out of the frying pan as the Asian side face France, who lost 4-1 to Norway. Erling Haaland grabbed a brace Lion Ostigard chipped in with one. The last goal was an own goal by Aymen Hussain to tie a neat bow on the misery basket. In this match, Hussain scored a goal for Iraq in the 39th minute.
