Brazil manager Carlo Ancelotti He said his team needed to do better than the 1-1 draw against Morocco, as while he was not disappointed by the result, he was certainly not thrilled about it.

The Selecao looked frustrated in the first half of the World Cup against Morocco, scoring their first goal in the 21st minute through a cyber finish. Vinicius equalized in the 32nd minute to save the 5-time world champion from defeat. Brazil improved in the second half but still couldn’t break through the African nation’s low block, eventually sharing the spoils.

“We didn’t play well: some challenges, a very unbalanced team, we lost a lot of balls and I think we have to do better in that sense. I’m not disappointed with the result and I’m not satisfied,” Ancelotti said after the match.

Morocco started brightly, patiently working the ball down the flanks and creating an early threat through Achraf Hakimi and Bilal El Khanous while Brazil were striking on the counter.

Morocco repeatedly tore through Brazil’s midfield with alarming ease, exposing the gaps between the lines as teenager Ayoub Bouaddi showed his talent.

Brazil’s first goal came in the 14th minute, but Igor Thiago failed to make the most of it, flicking his header.

Seven minutes later, the five-time world champion’s defensive frailty was exposed.

Lucas Paqueta was dismissed in midfield, allowing Brahim Diaz to break free from Saibari as the centre-backs caught Marquinhos and Gabriel flat-footed.

Alisson compounded the mistake with a mistimed charge and Saibari calmly slotted the ball past the goalkeeper to give Morocco the lead.

Brazil continued to struggle against Morocco’s intensity and organization, although the Africans were unable to convert their superiority into further goals.

Instead, it took only a moment for Vinicius to draw Brazil level in the 32nd minute.
