A total of 103 matches have been played and finally, we will now know the winner of the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the defending champions Argentina will face Spain in the final. But before that, the tournament will be held at MetLife Stadium, New York/New Jersey Stadium.
FIFA had said on Wednesday that American rapper-singer Post Malone will headline the closing ceremony starting at 11 am IST. It will also feature performances by Italian singer Laura Pausini, American singer Nicole Scherzinger, British pop star Robbie Williams and YouTube producer IShowSpeed. Actor Tom Cruise will also play a special role.

Produced by Balich Wonder Studios, the ceremony is designed to celebrate the tournament’s defining moments and soccer’s global appeal after a month of competition in the United States, Canada and Mexico. It will also celebrate all the 48 teams participating in the tournament.

In the basement of Javits Hall, two days before the final at MetLife Stadium, fans of Argentina and Spain lined up in a meager line for the Fanatics Festival in downtown New York. A grumpy security guard stifled his yawn and questioned the loyalty of each new entrant, “Spain in line over there and Argentina over here. No fights please, no referees. I know you guys are sweet.” The two groups of fans were separated by about fifty meters of barricades but he had read about clashes between England and Argentina fans in Times Square on Thursday.
