FIFA to investigate Argentina For the behavior of some of their players after the final whistle of the World Cup final against Spain. After losing the final 1-0, Leandro Paredes clashed with several Spanish players, including Eric Garcia and Gavi, Sky Sports reported. Argentina were shown a red card for violent behaviour.
It is unclear what the provocation was but in videos floating around social media, Garcia can be seen falling to the ground seconds after the referee blew the final whistle. He then gets up and has a heated exchange with Paredes who then pushes Garcia away with a hand on the latter’s neck.
In addition, Argentina defender Nahuel Molina also tried to hit Rodri who ran off the field to celebrate the win. Argentina coach Roberto Ayala was also seen trying to punch Dani Olmo in the face.

In the match, substitute Ferran Torres grabbed the title early in the second period of extra time as Spain beat a toothless but resilient Argentina 1-0 in a hugely disappointing final to win their second World Cup.
The European champions dominated the contest against their South American counterparts but their efforts were not rewarded until 37 seconds after the final break of the match when winger Nico Williams headed Pedro Porro’s cross into the path of fellow substitute Torres, who fired the ball into the roof of the net.

Argentina were reduced to 10 at the end of the opening 90 minutes when Enzo Fernandez was shown a second yellow card in stoppage time, looking to become the first team since Brazil in 1962 to win back-to-back titles but until then failed to get a shot on goal for Spain.

With their title on the line, they finally showed attacking intent in the closing minutes but it was too little, too late and their 39-year-old captain Lionel Messi lost in his third and perhaps last World Cup final.
Spain’s bench celebrated their 2010 victory and an ugly brawl broke out on the pitch involving Argentina’s players.
